Escape to the country!

Ferndale is a charming characterful self-catering cottage sleeping 4, nestled in the heart of the rolling Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Devon.  It is a real rural retreat opposite a wonderful pub in the friendly, sleepy village of Stockland, yet only a short drive away from the stunning scenery of the Devon and Dorset Jurassic Coast.  All you’ll be able to hear is the gentle trickle of the stream running through the garden, along with birdsong and the church bells. Enjoy the afternoon sun and evening sunsets on the enclosed decking and the patio area.  A wooden bridge takes you over the gentle stream to a huge lawned garden, backing onto farmland.

2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at no additional charge (please note that only the decking is fully enclosed - the back garden has a post and rail fence).

Plenty of on-street parking is available opposite the cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at this delightful cottage. It was so easy to open the door & feel relaxed immediately.
The bedrooms were extremely cosy & a great treat to have a log fire in the sitting room.. We loved the tranquil view from the kitchen & what a beautiful garden. The perfect place to visit & an extremely helpful host. I can recommend the pub opposite for a tasty meal! Thank you for the bottle of wine & delicious biscuits.....💜

Rachel:

Ferndale Cottage is a really delightful, homely cottage. We found it really comfortable and cosy with lovely furnishings and very well-appointed. We loved the wood burner for the cooler evenings whilst we were there but the deck and garden area were brilliant for when the weather was kind during the day! Having the pub across the road was a bonus - the food and the staff were great. Overall, we loved the cottage and the area and only wish we'd been staying for longer. We would love to return!
